Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Located in the districts of; Kanungu, Rubanda and Kisoro in south-western Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park covers 32,000 ha (321Km2) and is known for its exceptional biological diversity, with many rare and threatened (endangered) species, including the mountain gorilla. Bwindi Impenetrable NP was gazzeted in 1991, and declared a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site in 1994.

National Parks protect wildlife, habitats, and nature from destruction and human impact. Therefore, they are designed to protect both plants and animals. In reality they usually have a wider variety of animals, as they are meant to protect the entire ecosystems. National Parks give animals a safe space to breed and survive.

Over 247 species of threatened or endangered plants and animals are protected in National Parks. National parks protect places of natural beauty while the Wildlife reserves offer beautiful scenery and, are nice for game viewing safaris in Uganda. They are alternate places where you can carry out classic wildlife safaris from, in Uganda.
