As you trot the African Wilderness, all your senses will get heightened and engaged from the very first beginning sparkled to life when you first hear the frightening roar of a Lion, a laugh of a hyena in the night, then experience and feel the ground vibrate as the giant elephants cross right in front of you never to be forgotten sights and safari moments. Experience and discover the rich humbling evidence of African culture; experience the most beautiful birds such as saddle-park, shoebill, and the red-throated bee-eater among others. The National Parks we expect to visit include; Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls, Kidepo Valley and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Day 1
Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Pick from Entebbe International Airport and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, with a stopover at the equator then proceed through Masaka but will have lunch en-route at a selected restaurant or hotel. This drive is a memorable one with a fantastic view of the dry rolling Ankole hills with their signature long horned cattle just beside the roads.
Evening Game Drive in Lake Mburo National Park
Enjoy the evening Game drive for the best wildlife safari experience in this sculptured landscape, rolling hills, rock outcrops, and open wooded savanna. The expected animals include: Zebras, Antelopes, Elands, Topis, Giraffes, Waterbucks, Kipsringers, Velvet Monkeys, Buffalos, Warthogs, Baboons, and several bird species. This park alone has 332 known bird species, and 69 mammal species. After wards, drive to the lodge to check in for an overnight.
Day 2
Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise in Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, drive to the park and the compact jewel there are well presented wildlife at only 370Kms2. The park is small compared to other savanna national parks in Uganda.
Being a home to surprising wildlife, and the only national park in Uganda that has Impalas, you enjoy the beauty of these whispers of the wild. After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon Boat Cruise in Lake Mburo National Park
The boat moves along the shores of Lake Mburo. This trip is two hours and very engaging especially when you spot Crocodiles and Hippos. You can also spot herons, African Fish Eagles, Pelicans, and perhaps the African Fin Foot and the Shoebill the most sought after bird by bird watchers.
Day 3
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After lunch, visit the cultural museum where the future meets the past. Visit eriijukiro, Kwazi (Nkwanzi) crafts shop, cultural villages such as; Mparo Court and Kitami Palace. These places house the traditional huts for cattle and crop farmers.
Visit the magnificent sculpture of the warrior queen in her court, a representation of ancient Mpororo Kingdom before proceeding to Mbarara town on your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Drive through Bushenyi – Ishaka- Igara- before reaching the land of craters in Bunyaruguru (Rubiriizi district). This drive gives you the opportunity to enjoy the scenic view of the ever green tea plantations, before reaching Kalinzu forest reserve and Kichwamba Escarpment. Have a look at the beautiful sceneries, the fantastic view of the Rwenzori mountain and drive in at the lodge late in the evening for an overnight.
Day 4
Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, drive to Kasenyi plains for a rewarding game drive set against the backdrop of the jagged Rwenzori mountains. Enjoy the vast savanna grasslands for a classic African Safari experience. This gives you an opportunity to enjoy the huge herds of Uganda Kobs that attract prides of lions, huge dark elephants, drive through this sprawling savanna, enjoy the panoramic view of this Park, the ideal habitat for classic big game. It’s outstanding wildlife attraction such as; Buffalos, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Elephants, Leopards, Hyenas, and enjoy the scenic view of the park’s magnificent dozens of enormous craters curved dramatically into rolling green hills.
Afternoon Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start the boat cruise along Kazinga Channel at Mweya Peninsula the Queens focal point. Its elevation portion commands gorgeous views of the Kazinga Channel. Enjoy Kazinga Channel the Oasis for the many fascinating wildlife giving you an opportunity to cruise just metres away from hundreds of erroneous Hippos and Buffalos. While Elephants linger on the shoreline.
Day 5
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, drive to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Murchison falls is very long but rewarding through the ever green tea plantations en-route from Fort Portal City combined with spectacular landscape and views of Rwenzori ranges. Proceed to Hoima, via Kagadi for lunch at selected restaurants/hotels before proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park via Buliisa. This route is longer but more scenic and the memorable descent at the Rift Valley Escarpment with beautiful scenic views across Lake Albert towards the blue mountains of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Enjoy Bugungu wildlife reserve proceed and visit the top of Murchison and check in at the lodge late in the evening.
Day 6
Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, drive to the northern part of the park for the best and most Uganda’s remarkable wildlife spectacles, enjoy a fantastic photograph of the wide range of animals such as; Uganda Kobs, elephants, pats monkeys, heartbeats, Waterbucks, Buffalos, giraffes and Hippos in this Park the most popular safari destination. Track a herd of Buffalos as they range along the great open expanse and witness that nature moves at its own speed.
The more time you spend in the land walked by both predator and prey, it is the call of the wild, an invitation to a simpler world of filled with excitement and awe. Start the day the way nature intended as the sun begins to rise and shine over the ironic bush veld scenery in palm-dotted savanna, drive back to the lodge for lunch before proceeding for afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls, for the best adventurous experience in the primal wilderness presenting astonishing display of wildlife such as; Hippos, Crocodiles, Elephants.
Day 7
Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
After breakfast transfer to Kidepo Valley through the diverse and most scenic road with dotted palm trees, rich and have abundant animals through Pendero Woodland before reaching Wankwar gate. Enjoy the view of Acholi traditional homes/manyatta as you connect on the Arua –Kampala tarmac road and cross to Anaka, stop over for lunch in Gulu at selected restaurant/hotel then proceed to Kitgum. Kidepo valley National Park is 134 Kilometres from Kitgum town, and you drive through a very beautiful and scenic view.
From Kitgum Town, the drive start at the roundabout on the eastern edge of Kitgum town’s Centre through Kitgum – Matidi – Namkora, Rom before crossing a mountain and descending to Karenga and the park’s Lokimoit gate. The drive through Rom Mountain is regarded as the most tremendous drama with savanna grasslands and area of rich cultural interest for the plains around the park is dotted with Napore – Nyungea range, the Morungule Mountains, and Mt. Lomej in south Sudan in the semi-arid climate, enjoy the Karimojong homesteads.
Day 8
Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Community Visit in Kidepo Valley National Park
After breakfast, drive around the park as you enjoy and witness that Kidepo is perhaps indeed the only Ugandan Refuge for the number of animal species, including, Cheetah, Bat Eared Fox, Striped Hyena and Caracal, enjoy Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Elands and Zebras. Explore the Park which is rich in Big Game massive on scenery and its vast scale. Enjoy the spectacular views of one of East Africa’s’ magnificent wilderness roamed by the game.
Enjoy the Narus Valley the prime game viewing area for Buffalos, Giraffes on the drier slopes above, and scan the rock out crops for Lions and drive back to the lodge. Enjoy the dotted Manyattas homesteads of Karamoja’s fiercely traditional pastoralists enjoy and witness the common thread lingers all the way down to the most rural setting making your experience through the remote region that reflects a complex and fascinating nation that has always found a way of turning struggles into joy.
Day 9
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast transfer to Murchison Falls National Park this time the Chobe sector; using the same Kitgum- Gulu Road. Enjoy the dotted Manyattas homesteads of Karamoja’s fiercely traditional pastoralists enjoy and witness the common thread lingers all the way down to the most rural of setting making your experience through remote region one that reflects a complex and fascinating nation that has always found a way of turning struggles into joy as you drive through. This drive through Acholi land is a rewarding contemplate of human kind that creates a vibrant mix of people across this part of the continent and of all cultures. Enjoy the Manyattas of the Luo speaking group of people in Karuma area before proceeding to Chobe Lodge for overnight.
Day 10
Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast, drive to Kampala via Karuma. This drive through Aas you cross the bridge at Karuma and getting into Bunyoro Sub-regions a rewarding contemplate of human kind that creates a vibrant mix of people across this part of the continent and of all cultures. Here at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary you will enjoy the tracking of the southern White Rhino which were declared extinct in Uganda by 1983. Later, through conservation efforts, the white Rhino finds its birth again.
This is the only place in Uganda where you can find Rhinos in the wild. Along with the Rhinos, there are other wildlife that roam this sanctuary. They include animals such as: Baboons, Velvet Monkeys, Warthogs, Black and White Colobus monkeys, Uganda Kob, Waterbucks, Bush backs, Hippos, Pangolins, Mangoose, snakes and different species of birds such as; saddle beaked stork, shoe bills, and Grey crowned Crane among others. As you walk through along led by the Rhino fund guide on the foot, stop over for lunch en-route.
