
Overview
This safari is brief but offers you an opportunity to discover and photograph Murchison Falls National Park, a poetry wrapped in beauty and explore the green landscapes and fertile valleys. Witness the rich humbling evidence of African culture; witness Uganda’s nature which is both stunning and scenic. Therefore; this package gives you an opportunity to witness and interact with the big five in the endless lofty palm dotted plains the arenas of the world. You’ll also encounter the world’s most powerful waterfall – Murchison Falls in the Pearl of Africa.
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After your early breakfast, you’ll head to Murchison Falls National Park taking Luwero-Gulu highway, through Nakasongola dry corridor. You’ll branch off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. On arrival, at Ziwa, you will register, be briefed and set off for Rhino trekking guided by trained armed guides who will share their knowledge and experience with rhinos.
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the best place to trek Rhinos in the wild. These are the only accessible rhinos in the wild here in Uganda. However, others have just been introduced to Ajai Wildlife Reserve in N.W Uganda. Track them on the foot which is a good memorable engaging activity. However, along with rhinos there are many other animals and birds that are found in this sanctuary. After tracking have lunch and proceed to Murchison Falls NP.
Drive through Masindi town, Kaniyo- Pabidi forest which is rewarding with plenty of forest birds, and primates such as baboons, Blue and black Columbus monkeys before reaching the escarpment with fantastic view. Enter the park through Kichumbanyobo gate and drive up to the top of falls – a rewarding breath taking scenery, view the majestic waters of the River Nile, as it squeezes through 6 meters wide gorge. You have an opportunity to see the violent compression through the narrow gorge creating a continuous roar into devils cauldron creating a trade mark rainbow. Afterwards, drive to the Lodge to check in for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Game drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, drive to the northern sector of the National Park. You will witness a variety of never to be forgotten sights and safari moments. Enjoy a wide range of animals in this Nile Valley. Animals here include several herds of buffalos, elephants, giraffes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, oribi, warthogs, baboon, heartbeats, leopards, hyenas, jackals, lions and several bird species encountered on this safari enjoy the game drive, which is the most fantastic way to view and photograph animals. You may even spot a Leopard at dusk; the Park has a healthy population of Lions. Murchison falls NP is the best destination with open savanna grasslands, woodlands, acacia and riverine forests that give the best scenic view for the best African wildlife safari experience.
After Lunch your lunch drive to Paraa to start a 3 hour boat cruise trip along R. Nile to the bottom of the falls. You will see water birds, crocodiles, hippos and elephants at close range. After the boat trip, drive back to Kampala or Entebbe reaching late in the evening just in time to catch up with your aero-plane or to relax where you were picked from.
